Meet Sue Bridgman
Drive about an hour north of Denver and you will arrive in the pretty city of Greeley, Colorado. Greeley has much to offer in the way of agriculture and arts but the true gem is Bridging the Gaps Dyslexia Center which is where you'll find Sue Bridgman, Founder and Executive Director, working to provide resources to families struggling with learning disabilities.
The center has much to offer in the way of instruction for students, but also training and seminars aimed at educating the community and arming them to handle the challenges our students face daily in their academics. Sue's center has been around since 2018 but only recently added our program to their offerings.

Tell us about yourself, your background and how you initially heard about KoolMinds:
My name is Sue Bridgman, and I have been in the educational field for over 30 years in the United States and Canada. I am dyslexic and ADHD myself, so helping kids with the same struggles as I went through in school was my reason and passion for creating the My Multiplication Magic, a multi-sensory system for learning multiplication and division facts, and starting our nonprofit dyslexia center.
I am the founder and Executive Director of Bridging the Gaps Dyslexia Center in Greeley, Colorado since 2018. We are a nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to provide affordable resources for parents, families, and schools. We do assessments for dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. We provide effective research-based intervention programs for students who struggle in any of those deficit areas. In addition, we provide training for parents, schools, and administrators in dyslexia awareness, multisensory math workshops, and training on the appropriate intervention programs. I initially heard about KoolMinds from the developers of the course and was excited to add this to our existing services.

What was different about KoolMinds and why did you decide to become a licensee?
We lacked services for students who struggled with ADHD, and we had a physician who came on board to help with assessing students for ADHD, so we wanted to provide an affordable solution for parents to help with all the struggles that come with ADHD and executive function-related issues. KoolMinds Cognitive Skills Course provided that missing link for parents to get results at a fraction of the cost as other similar programs.
Tell us how you got started, how your services have developed over time and where you see it going in the future.
I knew the owners of the company previously, and they contacted me knowing that the KoolMinds cognitive skills program would be of benefit to the families we are serving. We have had a dozen or so families go through the program, and we are hopeful that many more families will see the tremendous benefits and hop on board.
What are some of the initial changes you can see in your students and how much do you see them improve over time?
The students that have gone through the program with fidelity have an increase in confidence, self-control, slowing down, and being more intentional when doing academic assignments.
What are some of the challenges you face in this profession?
Some of the challenges we face in this profession are finding funds for our scholarship programs and keeping up with the demand of the number of students needing help in our area.
Are there any nuggets of wisdom for someone considering licensing our program?
Make sure it is a good fit for your center and aligns with your vision, purpose, and goals. If it does, then don't let the fear of something new hinder you from taking your center to the next level with this amazing program. All students can benefit from this program, especially those with ADHD and Executive Function struggles. It is a wonderful program with flexibility where parents can affordably do it at home, do a hybrid, or just let your professional staff do all of the training with the students. I recommend it to all centers who wish to provide an array of effective solutions for the families they serve.

I am a pediatric neuropsychologist, licensed to practice in both Nevada and Utah. My practice currently offer comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for children between 2 1/2 and 17 years of age.
Our team offers expertise in evaluating and diagnosing a wide range of childhood concerns and diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Developmental Delays, Communication Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, and Mood Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Behavioral Disorders. We also offer evaluation for giftedness.
Given the diversity of the population that we serve, our team works with children who struggle with learning for various reasons on a daily basis.
In my opinion, one of the greatest resources for the families in our community who have children in need of specialized intervention to improve their academic abilities, is KoolMinds, founded and operated by Jura Kool.
KoolMinds is the first place that we refer families when their child is diagnosed with a learning difference because we have seen the quality of their service, and the positive impact that they have on their clients, time and time again.
The feedback that we have received from families about their experience with KoolMinds has been overwhelmingly positive.
Ms. Kool is an asset to our community; she is very responsive to questions and has always been able to provide our clinicians as well as our patients and their families with valuable insight and practical tools for improving academic performance and remediating academic difficulties.
When Ms. Kool informed me that she was growing her practice to Utah and Idaho, my first thought was how amazing it will be for families in those states to be able to access her services.
It is exciting to think how many more children and families will have a better quality of life because they will be able to get the help that they need to succeed academically.

Jura Kool
President & Co-Founder
Jura has been helping students with learning and attention issues since 2009. She is a Reading and Dyslexia specialist, an Orton-Gillingham practitioner, and Educational Advocate.
Jura has done volunteer work as Co-Founder of Decoding Dyslexia of NV where she helps parents with accommodations and resources for students who struggle with Dyslexia. She became passionate about working with students with learning difficulties when she witnessed her own family members struggle with Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia.
Jura's vision and dream would be for every parent and teacher to understand learning differences and know how to help their students. She has experience with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, ODD, and NLD. She has a background in Psychology, Education, and is currently continuing her education in Linguistics and Cognitive Neuroscience at Brigham Young University.
Jura loves researching about best remedial techniques for students with learning disabilities. Jura enjoys spending her free time with a relaxing movie or good book, reading classics to her children, studying the French language, teaching, traveling, and experiencing new things with her two children and husband. At KoolMinds, she's the Director of Learning and Development and manages the instructional design and support of the programs.

Andrew currently manages the Weber and Davis County KoolMinds locations. He had a unique journey pulling him towards a passion with cognitive skill development. As a young student Andrew struggled to keep up with his schools demands, even in elementary school the load was very overwhelming for him. Specifically reading and concentration were challenge.
When Andrew decided to attend college things really hit a focal point. Immediately the learning struggles became magnified, the learning environment required more individual focus and reading ability. It didn’t take long before he was fighting to pass classes. At this time he had to look at his future with a different perspective, take a different path outside of education or find support to help address the underlying learning blocks.
Immediately after surviving the semester and some research, Andrew enrolled in a cognitive skills program to open up the processing blocks that stood in the way of achieving academic success. A few months later things really started to change, it was about half way through the next semester that he recognized more focus, stamina, retaining information came easier and test scores greatly improved. Reading wasn’t just doable, it was enjoyable!
